Welcome to Creating Imagery

It is easy in life to become inured to the mundane around. We truly don't take the time to smell the roses, which tends to make the roses upset.

With Creating Imagery, I want to try to ignite the senses by communicating how we see the beauty in the world through beauty in words and beauty in images. I want to engage your  emotions and make you not just see or hear what I experience, but to help you experience it too. If I can bring you even one step down that path, it will have been worth creating.

To feel the cool autumn breeze as you look at the last remaining leaf on a tree, struggling mightily to outlast the winter if it can, not knowing that it cannot. Or hear the waves as they break upon the rock and as they break the rock as you read about the storm-tossed ship in its precarious struggle. To see the stillness of a photographer framing that "one shot" that will have made his trip worthwhile. Or wrestle with the struggles a character is enduring as he pursues what he wants.

But also, I want to help you ask the questions. See, life is not about finding the answers. We have the answers already. We just don't know the questions.

Indeed, this website was inspired because one day, standing in a hall in the Javits Center, the question came to me: Who am I, really? What do my passions all have in common?

The answer was there all along: I create imagery.

About Me:

I am an award-winning writer, photographer and actor, and occasionally dabble in other art forms as well -- if singing off-key while telling rude jokes can be called "art". I've been a puppet, a pauper, a pirate, a poet, a pawn, and a punk.

But mostly, a person.
